TV_Tech Posted November 29, 2015 Report Posted November 29, 2015 Here is a 1949 Admiral TV/Radio/Phono combo I just picked up last night. The picture tube (CRT) is dead with almost 0 emission. Luckily I have a good spare. I'll go over all the transformers in the set and should they all pass testing I'll replace the 30 or 40 paper capacitors and electrolytics. I'll also go over all the resistors and replace any that have drifted off tollerance as well as replacing the weak tubes. Then I'll swap the picture tubes and power it up. If all checks out ok then it'll get a complete alignment. I'll do the same to the radio section and turn my attention to the cabinet. https://www.kshs.org/kansapedia/cool-things-home-entertainment-system/15792
Stormy Posted November 29, 2015 Report Posted November 29, 2015 Nice, I remember seeing similar cabinet combos when I was a kid
