Smiley Posted September 15, 2014 Report Posted September 15, 2014 Please join us at 8:30 P.M. (EDST) on September 20th, 2014 (0030 September 21st (GMT), in #readers_corner, for a discussion of the short story Pvt. Parker, Missing In Action by D. K. Latta. Like last week's story this is a contemporary one. It's an unusual kind of ghost story; one that is more thought provoking than scary. This story is my first encounter with the author. The Huffington Post (on line edition, dtd: Sep 14, 2014) offers this brief description of his literary career: " When not trying to earn a real living, D.K. Latta occasionally writes SF and fantasy stories, and has written pop culture opinions on everything from comic books to radio drama. But long ago he adopted as his primary hobby Canadian film & television with his website: The great Canadian Guide to Movies (& TV) at: http://www.pulpanddagger.com/movies/filmtv.html ) -- making him either nobly patriotic or just plain nuts." I hope you enjoy reading it as much as I did. The story is available on line at: http://www.strangehorizons.com/2000/20000925/Fiction_Parker_Latta.shtml Meeting Place: Webchat: http://koach.com/cha...=readers_corner mIRC Users: /server -m chat3.koach.com:6667 -j #readers_corner 6667 I hope to see you all there.
